Before THE ARGON ROOM took it’s current shape, Simon Starling recorded ‘Semaphore’.
“Semaphore” was recorded quickly and fearlessly with The Church’s Steve Kilbey producing and adding vocals, bass and keys. The rest of Simon’s recording team was rounded off by his right hand man Wesley (Devoted Few), Tim Powles (The Church) and Jorden Brebach (Sparkadia). The confidence to take these risks came from assured songwriting and Simon surrounding himself with the who’s who of the Sydney music community. To play the album live a band was drawn together from members of THE CHURCH, FAKER and DEVOTED FEW and today they form the core THE ARGON ROOM.
